Work to Feed the Hungry 2025 Drive

Call to All Lodge Brothers of the 7th Masonic District:
- Engage to do your part to make a positive impact to “Work to Feed the Hungry” in Greater Berks County area.
We are partnering with the Jarett Yoder Foundation and Helping Harvest, to gather non-perishable food, lightly used/new clothing for the veterans, and growing potatoes to multiple our contributions while sharing in brotherly love and family time.

What is our goal?:
- We can’t solve hunger and help all the veterans in Berks county by ourselves, but we can enable those organizations and partner in the fight to helping the needy be clothed and feed.

- How will the 7th Masonic District achieve this goal?
With your help!

o Collect thousands of non-perishable food items
o Collect lightly used and new clothing to give to veterans
o Grow and multiply our gifts to the hungry by preparing seed potatoes and harvesting potatoes to enable Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to hundreds of families.

What can brother’s and families do?: - Check you pantry… Pickup a little extra on your next shopping trip…
- Come to the Reading Masonic Center on Friday April 25, 2025 during 6-9 PM to drop your donation, help cut seed potatoes, and show some fellowship and snack time.
- If you can’t make April 25, drop your donation at your lodge’s designated location

Donation Guidelines: - When collecting food items, keep the following requirements in mind:
o Please do not donate out-of-date food or food in rusted, dented, or leaking cans or containers.
o If the outer box is torn, but the inner wrapping is sealed, we can use the item.
o All food items must include product ingredients. No unidentifiable bags or cans can be used.
o Non-perishable food in plastic, cardboard or cans works best. Please no glass items.
o Home-made items (canned jellies, sauces, etc.) can not be accepted.
o Personal Hygiene products for veterans are welcome

When donating clothing for veterans? o Only lightly used/new clothing (winter, summer, fall)
o Veteran families are served, so baby to adult clothes are all welcome.
o Used shoes or soiled clothing can not be accepted.
